Communities of the Central Coast

San Luis Obispo

The cultural, commercial, & entertainment hub of scenic Central Coast. With a climate that sees 300 days of sunshine, average temps that hang around the mid 70’s, outdoor life is bountiful! San Luis Obispo was recently named the happiest place in America by author and researcher Dan Buettner. San Luis Obispo was also named one of the friendliest towns in America by USA Today. A popular destination just 200 miles North of L.A. and 230 miles South of San Francisco.

North County (Paso Robles, Templeton, Atascadero, Santa Margarita)

When traveling on Highway 101 North of San Luis Obispo you will pass over the Cuesta Grade. The climate North of the Cuesta Grade will experience more seasonal environment where the winters nights are cold and up to triple digit summer highs. Of course this climate has created one of the most exciting wine regions in the United States with over 200 wineries. You can count on rolling hills, majestic oaks, and warm hospitality.

South County ( Pismo Beach, Grover Beach, Arroyo Grande, Oceano, Nipomo)

The South County offers a more diverse climate with both rural and seaside communities. It's easy to escape the coastal fog by heading East of Highway 101 in Arroyo Grande or Nipomo. Large acreage parcels are also easily found in Arroyo Grande and Nipomo. Golfing, riding the dunes in a four-wheel ATV, horseback riding, surfing, or fishing from the 1200-foot pier can all be part of a Pismo Beach vacation.

North Coast (Cambria, Cayucos, Morro Bay, Los Osos, Baywood Park)

The North Coast communities enjoy some of the most scenic and unspoiled coastal areas of the Beautiful Central Coast. Highway One is the main route that will allow easy access to each of the quaint towns nestled along the Pacific. The weather on the North Coast is a bit cooler than the South Coast with a few more foggy days. Enjoy the sandy beaches or head up to Cambria where the pine trees meet the coast.

Avila Beach & Shell Beach

Avila and Shell Beach are both very special communities that enjoy warm premium coastal weather. When it's foggy on the North and South Coasts these South facing communities have a good chance of being sunny. Resort living takes over in Avila Beach, and entertainment is in the fresh salty air. Summertime farmers markets at the promenade, hot mineral springs, wine tasting, and oceanfront dining are highly recommended.
